A confidential jury trial alleging medical malpractice in a wrongful death action was decided in the defendants’ favor.
The defendants in the case are two doctors; one works at Springfield Neurological and Spine Institute and the other works at Ali Internal Medicine Associates.
The plaintiff in the case is confidential and argued that the wrongful death of a minor child occurred due to the doctors’ delay of care.
“Plaintiff alleged that Defendant 1 failed to refer the descendent to dermatology for further treatment. Plaintiff alleged that Defendant 2 removed a suspicious spot and failed to send off for pathology,” according to information submitted by the firm representing the defendants, Cowherd, Reade, Adair & Laney.
The initial pre-trial demand was for $1,000,000 and one of the defendant doctors had insurance through Keystone.
The jury decided the matter in the defendants’ favor. No additional information was submitted. Neither the plaintiff’s attorneys nor the defendant’s responded to requests for comment.
